Parkinson’s and Exercise

Whenever possibilities for deceleration of Parkinson’s are discussed, the topic Exercise is also addressed. It is undisputedly regarded as the most important single measure that can help the patient cope with the symptoms.

Disrupting the downward spiral: how art may help living with Parkinson’s

Our second event 2019 will again be done jointly together with the University of Dundee.

It evolved from a workshop with members of DRIG as part of a separate Dundee project between artist Daksha Patel and the MRC PPU Lab of the University of Dundee. It is linked to an exhibition by Daksha Patel at the DCA featuring work connected to Parkinson’s research at the MRC-PPU.

In order to develop a cure for Parkinson’s disease or at least to slow down or stop its progression, it is necessary to know the mechanisms leading to Parkinson’s disease. Over the last few years, the MRC PPU Laboratory at the University of Dundee under the direction of Prof. Alessi has contributed significantly to the identification of such mechanisms.
