On the 11th of April three of our members, Mark Coxe and David and Aileen Rigg, headed south to Westminster to join hundreds of other Parky People and their families responding to the Movers and Shakers Podcast 'Call to Action'! At their BIG SING! event outside Westminster Palace they all came together to sing the Movers and Shakers 'I Will Survive!' anthem, after the podcasters had delivered their Parky Charter to No 10 Downing Street (for a second time, as there has been a change of government, see https://www.moversandshakerspodcast.com/) We had hoped that the video of our Dundee Research version of the I will Survive anthem would be screened, but in the end it was not possible to have a big screen at the event, watch it here: https://youtu.be/49Drb6WeoYQ
Of course, our resident poet also rose to the occassion and produced a World Parkinson's Day 2025 poem, which he was able to read over the loud speaker outside the Houses of Parliament - great job Mark! You can find his WPD 2025 poem on our new Parky Poetry page here: https://drig.org.uk/poetry - all poets welcome!
