The Dundee Research Interest Group has now run three Open Doors Day events at the laboratories of the Dundee University School of Life Sciences where ground breaking research is being done in the urgent search for a cure for Parkinson's disease (PD) as well as methods to relieve the symptoms of PD.
Many People with Parkinson's (PwP) and their families have joined us on these days and found the information useful and inspiring. They have also enjoyed speaking with the young scientists who show the visitors around their labs. Many people have asked us how they could be kept updated about news from the labs and progress that the scientists are making.
To do this we are now proposing free membership of DRIG for anyone who wants to be able to keep up with progress. This will give you information about our annual:
- autumn webinar with Specialist Parkinson's researchers from other centres of excellence for Parkinson's research.
- the Open Doors Day at the Dundee Labs, usually in January or Februarstart of each year; and
- the spring gathering with young Dundee researchers, giving them a chance to tell us about their own individual projects and, for some of them, meet People with Parkinson's, face to face, for the first time.
