Report on Event
It was such a nice day at Lochore Meadows on Sunday, despite the inclement weather. I say 'nice day' because so many people, over 200 apparently, came together to support Parkinson's UK by completing the Walk for Parkinson's sponsored walk. Participants had a choice of two distances (2.1 or 5.8 miles - extended to 6.6 miles on the day due to unexpected cows on the route!). All sponsorship from the Walk for Parkinson's 2024 series will go towards vital research into new treatments and a cure.
As Chair of the local branch and someone who has Parkinson's I was humbled (and occasionally lost for words) by the number of people who took part. Not only by those that are active members of the Branch, but also by the friends who have a greater or lesser link to Parkinson's Fife but were willing to brave the elements and raise money for the charity anyway.
